Frequently asked questions
The short version: Henri is a private place to post and chat with people you trust. Here are the questions we hear most.
Does Henri handle payments?
No. Henri never touches money. There are no payments, rentals, reservations, deposits, or insurance built into the platform. If members decide to buy, sell, or lend something, they arrange that entirely between themselves, off-platform.
Is there a limit to group sizes?
Henri is designed for trusted communities rather than crowds, so groups work best on the smaller side — a neighborhood, a club, a family. There is a cap of 100 members per group.
How do I invite someone?
A group admin sends an invitation from inside the group. The invited person accepts it from their account, and only then can they see the group's listings and chat. Nobody can request to join from the outside, because there is no outside view of your group.
Can strangers find my group?
No. There is no public search, no directory, and no public profiles. Groups are completely hidden from the open web and from other Henri users. The only way in is an invitation from a member.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your listings and messages stay strictly inside your group and are only visible to its members. We do not sell your data, and access is enforced at the database level so information cannot leak to people outside your group.
Who handles the actual handoff of items?
You do. Henri is just the bulletin board where you post and chat. Picking up the lawnmower or dropping off the baby clothes is arranged by you and the other member directly.
